My role:
The process
Working in an agile environment and with short term deadlines for each sprint, we focused our job in a streamlined process based on three iterative cycles.
In the Discovery phase, we began by conducting user research to gather insights into the existing ATS.
This involved 10 user interviews,
136 surveys, and analyzing usage data to identify pain points, inefficiencies, and user needs.
The goal was to build a deep understanding of the users and their workflows.
We also benchmarked against industry standards and competitors to ensure our redesign would be competitive and innovative.
What we found
Inefficient Dashboard:
8/10
Users reported that the existing dashboard was cluttered and difficult to navigate.
Key functionalities were buried under multiple layers, causing frustration and slowing down their workflow.
Slow Job Creation Workflow:
10-15 min.
Was the average time to complete a job creation. According to users words, the process was cumbersome and time-consuming. Users had to go through numerous page scrolls, often encountering redundant fields or unclear instructions.
Lack of Real-Time Updates:
+30
Users confirmed losing opportunities to hire good candidates due to lack of updates and notifications in critical parts of the process.
The absence of these features led to delays in responding to applications and other critical actions.
During the Design phase, we translated our findings from the Discovery phase into actionable design solutions.
I created wireframes and interactive prototypes to visualize the new features and improvements.
We held regular design reviews and
feedback sessions with stakeholders to ensure alignment with business objectives.
User testing was a critical component of this phase.
We also conducted usability sessions with real end-users to validate our design decisions and gather feedback for iterative improvements.
What we did
Dashboard Redesign
In the Implementation phase, I worked closely with developers to bring the designs to life.
This involved detailed handoffs, creating design specifications, and ensuring that the development team had all the necessary assets and guidance to avoid having blockers.
I also participated in regular sprint
reviews and provided continuous feedback to ensure the final product matched the design vision.
Post-launch, we monitored user feedback and analytics to make further refinements, ensuring that the redesign effectively addressed the user needs and improved their overall experience.
